POLICE TARGETED BY GUNFIRE
The US has once again experienced the horror of an armed attack. This time, police officers on duty were targeted. According to information provided by local authorities, the incident occurred in the York County region of Pennsylvania. Police officers who were in the field for an investigation were shot when an unidentified attacker opened fire around noon. Three police officers lost their lives in the incident, while two others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris announced that the attacker was shot and neutralized by security forces. Following the attack, schools in the area were issued a "shelter-in-place" order. Shortly after, it was announced that there was no longer an active threat to the public.
GOVERNOR SHAPIRO: "SUCH ACTS OF VIOLENCE ARE UNACCEPTABLE"
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro visited the region following the attack and met with the families of the fallen officers. Condemning the attack in strong terms, Shapiro said, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of three brave individuals who served this community, this Commonwealth, and this country. Such acts of violence are unacceptable. As a society, we must do better."
Governor Shapiro also ordered all flags in the state to be flown at half-staff in honor of the three officers who lost their lives in the attack.
US ATTORNEY GENERAL BONDI: FBI IS ON THE SCENE
US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced in a statement on the social media platform "X" that the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) had been deployed to the region. Emphasizing that violence against law enforcement is "unacceptable," Bondi called for prayers for the fallen officers.
FBI Director Kash Patel also stated in a post on "X" that teams are continuing their work at the scene, adding, "Our prayers are with the fallen officers, their families, and all of York County."
INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
Authorities reported that a comprehensive investigation has been launched to examine all aspects of the attack.
