Preliminary agreement between the US and Iran
The preliminary agreement being worked on by the US and Iran is expected to be announced as the "Islamabad Declaration," with a new round of talks scheduled for June 5.
A significant stage has been reached in the long-standing negotiations between the US and Iran. According to diplomatic sources, the preliminary agreement on which the parties have reached a consensus is expected to be named the "Islamabad Declaration." This preliminary document will pave the way for a more comprehensive and final agreement.
A new round of talks between the two countries is planned for June 5. However, the delegations will not sit at the table face-to-face until the main agreement process begins, and contacts will largely proceed indirectly.
It is stated that Pakistan, which has undertaken mediation in the negotiations, will announce the memorandum of understanding, which serves as a preliminary agreement, on its own without the direct participation of the parties. This step is hoped to facilitate the functioning of the diplomatic process before official talks begin between the two states.
US President Donald Trump, in his latest assessment yesterday, signaled that a consensus had largely been reached with Iran, stating, "The final elements and details of the agreement are currently being discussed and will be announced shortly."
It is estimated that more details regarding the agreement will be shared with the public in the coming days.
