According to the Daily Mail, Ceccon had stated regarding the issue, "There is no air conditioning in the village, it's hot, and the food is bad... Many athletes are moving for this reason. This is not an excuse; it is a reality that perhaps not everyone knows."

Explaining that he normally sleeps in the afternoons when he is at home, the athlete stated that he has had difficulty doing so in Paris due to the hot weather and noise. Following these statements, a photo that went viral on social media showed Ceccon sleeping in a park.

Accordingly, Saudi Arabian rower Husein Alireza noticed the moments when Thomas Ceccon was sleeping on a towel and shared this image on Instagram. While sharing this photo, he tagged the Olympic Village as the location of the photo. On the other hand, it has not been clarified exactly when Thomas Ceccon's photo was taken.
