Protests in Iran grow: Warning from the US

A striking statement has been made regarding the fate of thousands of people detained due to widespread protests across Iran. Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, the head of Iran's Judiciary, announced in a speech on state television that protesters would be tried quickly and that death sentences would be carried out following this process.

In his statement, Mohseni-Ejei said, "If we are going to do this, we must do it now. If we need to take action, we must implement it quickly. If you wait two or three months, it will have no effect; if we are going to do it, let's do it immediately."

These remarks came immediately after US President Donald Trump threatened military intervention regarding the killing of protesters in Iran. Trump had previously emphasized many times that the US would respond strongly if death sentences were carried out against protesters.

Meanwhile, while civilian forces continue patrol activities in various districts of Tehran, it has been observed that the Basij militia and riot police units operating in different parts of the country have begun to withdraw to their barracks.

The Iranian administration is also preparing to hold large-scale funeral ceremonies for the 100 security personnel who lost their lives in the recent events. Security measures in the capital and other cities have been raised to the highest level.

As allegations increase that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is suppressing protests using violence, the possibility of the execution of over 10,000 detained protesters is raising international concerns.

US President Donald Trump, in an interview with CBS regarding potential mass executions in Iran, said, "(If this happens) there will be very harsh actions. If they do something like this, we will respond very strongly. We do not want to see what is happening in Iran. It is one thing for people to protest, but if you start killing thousands of people and now you are talking to us about hangings, this will not end well for them at all. We will all see how this turns out for them."
