Protests in Israel: Streets set on fire

Anti-government protests are intensifying in Israel.

Thousands of Israelis who oppose Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government gathered in the capital, Tel Aviv, in front of the Kirya Military Base and the headquarters of the Likud Party, led by Netanyahu.

Expressing their reaction against Netanyahu, the protesters demanded the signing of a hostage deal and called for early elections.

Protesting the policies pursued by the Israeli prime minister in the Gaza Strip, the demonstrators set streets on fire.

Police intervened against the Israelis calling for elections and detained a large number of people chanting anti-government slogans.
