The Russian Central Election Commission has published the assets of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is running as an independent candidate in the presidential election to be held in March.

According to information released by the Russian Central Election Commission, Putin owns a 78-square-meter apartment in St. Petersburg and an 18-square-meter garage in the same city.

While Putin also owns a 1960 GAZ M21, a 1965 GAZ M21, and a 2009 Niva model car, the Russian leader has a total of 54.4 million rubles (approximately 606 thousand dollars) across 10 different bank accounts.

Putin, who also holds 230 shares in Bank St. Petersburg, earned over 67 million rubles in the last 6 years, covering his presidential term that began in 2018.

ELECTION IN RUSSIA

The country's Federation Council decided in December 2023 that the presidential election would be held on March 15-17, 2024.

Putin's candidacy was approved by the Russian Central Election Commission yesterday.

Putin, who will participate in the election race as an independent candidate, will be supported in his election campaign by the "United Russia" Party, which holds seats in the Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament.

The previous presidential election in Russia was held on March 18, 2018, and Putin was elected president with 76.69 percent of the vote.
