Putin issues Middle East warning to the US

Putin attended the "Russia Calling!" international investment forum organized by Russia's VTB Bank.

Speaking at the forum, Putin said that the West is trying to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia in the economic sphere as well, but has failed in this regard.

Stating that Western politicians are pressuring countries that cooperate with Russia and threatening them with sanctions, Putin said, "The world is changing and things are not going as they wish. With their actions, they (Western politicians) are accelerating the process of forming a multipolar world order."

Evaluating the statement by Donald Trump, who was elected the 47th President of the US, that "BRICS countries will face 100 percent tariffs if they do not commit to not creating a new currency and not trying to move away from the dollar," Putin noted that the world is changing.

Putin said, "Trump was not in the White House for 4 years. During this period, changes occurred in the world and the American economy. Trump's political opponents have done a lot to undermine the foundations of the dollar, which is the world reserve currency."

Evaluating the US's actions in the Middle East, Putin said, "The US is acting actively and quite aggressively in the Middle East region. This is causing a reaction from resistance forces in the region. The economy and logistics routes are being damaged. Many shippers have started sending their ships around Africa."

Sharing his hope that relations with Western countries will improve, Putin emphasized that "this is an inevitable process."

"RELATIONS WITH IRAN ARE STABLE AND SECURE"

Touching upon the relations between Russia and Iran, Putin stated that bilateral relations are developing in a stable and secure manner, saying, "I am sure that an increase in bilateral trade volume will be recorded at the end of this year. We have major projects in the fields of logistics, energy, industry, and security."

Vladimir Putin shared the information that they will soon sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Iran.
