Putin rejects 'ceasefire' accepted by Ukraine: 'A meaningless ceasefire'
Following talks held in Saudi Arabia, U.S. officials had announced that Ukraine was ready for a ceasefire and that the ball was now in Russia's court. Putin announced that he rejected the agreement in question.
Evaluating the ceasefire decision that emerged from the talks held in Saudi Arabia, Putin used the phrase "An unacceptable, meaningless ceasefire" regarding the agreement in question.
The following statement was made by Russia regarding the matter:
*We need a lasting peace instead of a 30-day break that would only serve to let Ukraine rest.
*A ceasefire cannot be discussed while the shipment and support of weapons and intelligence from the U.S. and Europe continue.
*Ukraine's demand for a full ceasefire in the air and a partial ceasefire on the ground is unacceptable.
*There is no peace option other than Ukraine laying down its arms and disarming.
