Putin's statement on Istanbul: An agreement had been reached!

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he could visit Turkey at the beginning of 2024, while noting that during the negotiations held between Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul in March 2022, "an agreement had been reached regarding the demilitarization of Ukraine."

Russian President Vladimir Putin attended his annual special Q&A session and year-end press conference held at the Gostiny Dvor Trade and Exhibition Center in the capital, Moscow.

Stating that they are in constant contact with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Putin said, "I was planning to visit Turkey, but this visit did not take place due to Erdoğan's busy work schedule."

Putin also expressed that he could visit Turkey at the beginning of 2024, adding, "An agreement had been reached in Istanbul regarding the demilitarization of Ukraine."

Referring to the negotiations held between Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul in March 2022, Putin said the following:

"During the negotiations in Istanbul, an agreement was reached on issues related to the demilitarization of Ukraine. Now, an agreement can be reached again, or the problem can be solved by force."
