Qassam Brigades to release some hostages
In a statement made by Hamas, it was announced that some of the foreign hostages will be released in the coming days.
As the conflict between Israel and Palestine continues since October 7, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced that some of the foreign hostages will be released in the coming days.
Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades Spokesperson Abu Obeida stated in his announcement, "We have informed the mediators that we will release a certain number of foreigners within the next few days."
Issuing a warning to Israel regarding its planned ground operation into the Gaza Strip, Obeida said, "Gaza will be a graveyard and a quagmire for the enemy's soldiers and political leaders."
HAMAS HAD CALLED HOSTAGES 'GUESTS'
In a previous statement regarding the hostages, Obeida had indicated that the hostages were being treated in accordance with moral and humanitarian duties, stating that they viewed the foreign hostages as guests and would release them as soon as conditions on the ground permitted.
While it is estimated that there are approximately 240 hostages in the Gaza Strip, Hamas has released a total of 4 hostages to date, and 1 hostage was rescued through an operation conducted by the Israeli army.
