Reason why the attack that killed three US soldiers could not be prevented has been understood

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, unnamed US officials made assessments regarding the deadly drone attack on the US base.

Officials stated that they concluded the failure to intercept the one-way drone launched from Iraq toward the US base on the Syria-Jordan border was due to confusion caused by another US drone returning to the base at the same time.

Pointing out that the return of a US drone to the base at the same time the enemy drone was approaching its target made it difficult to distinguish between "friend and foe," officials noted that investigations into the attack are ongoing.

On the other hand, a US defense official also shared the information that the US has not yet found evidence that Iran directed the attack, which has so far resulted in the death of 3 US soldiers and the injury of 34 others.

ABOUT THE ATTACK ON US FORCES

US President Joe Biden announced yesterday, first through a written statement from the White House, that 3 US soldiers lost their lives in an attack carried out with a one-way drone on a US military base on the Jordan-Syria border.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) also reported that 25 people were injured in the attack, and later updated the number of injured to 34.

US officials, led by Biden, held Iran-backed groups responsible for the attack and stated that the US would respond at a time and place of its choosing.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani also denied allegations that Iran was linked to the attack in question, stating, "Resistance forces in the region do not take orders from Iran in their decisions and actions."
