Remarkable move from Iran following Trump and Xi's Strait of Hormuz consensus
Following the agreement reached by the US and Chinese leaders on keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and ensuring Iran does not possess nuclear weapons, Iran facilitated the passage of over 30 ships under its control last night.
A significant diplomatic development has occurred following US President Donald Trump's first visit to China in 8.5 years. In a statement released after the meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the two countries announced that they had reached a consensus on preventing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons.
According to information provided by Iranian State Television, immediately following these statements, more than 30 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz without incident under the supervision of the Revolutionary Guards Navy. It was noted that during these passages, Iranian authorities issued warnings specifically regarding ships wishing to pass through the Strait without obtaining official approval.
In previously shared statements, it was emphasized that as a result of contacts between the Tehran and Beijing administrations, an agreement had been reached to specifically allow the passage of Chinese-owned ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
