Remote education implemented in 18 provinces due to air pollution and flu outbreak
Rising air pollution and a flu outbreak in Iran have led to schools in 18 provinces switching to remote education.
Significant measures are being taken in Iran due to air pollution and a flu outbreak. A Swiss-based air monitoring company announced that Tehran ranks third in air pollution, following Baghdad and Delhi. This situation has led to the closure of many museums and historical sites in Tehran on November 26-27. Important locations such as the National Museum of Iran, the Reza Abbasi Museum, and the Golestan Palace, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, will not accept visitors under this scope.
In addition to air pollution, the flu outbreak is also increasing its impact across the country. Due to these two factors, according to the Farhikhtegan news site, schools in 18 provinces have switched to remote education. While students in regions such as the capital Tehran, Alborz, Qom, and West and East Azerbaijan are receiving education from home due to air pollution, schools in Hamadan, Gilan, Yazd, and several other provinces are closed due to the flu outbreak.
