Response from Palestine to the US: 'We expect it to recognize Palestine'

According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Abu Rudeineh evaluated the statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding his opposition to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Pointing out that Israel is not interested in peace and stability and still does not realize that peace cannot be achieved without establishing an independent Palestinian state, Abu Rudeineh said, "The US is also expected to recognize Palestine, not just talk about a two-state solution. Now is the most appropriate time to do this."

"THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE WILL NOT ABANDON THEIR LEGITIMATE RIGHTS"

Stating that United Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions, UN General Assembly resolutions, and international consensus have granted Palestine the status of a non-member observer state at the UN and added the Palestinian flag alongside those of recognized countries, Abu Rudeineh noted the following:

"The Palestinian people will not abandon their legitimate rights, Jerusalem and their holy sites, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, no matter how long it takes."

Netanyahu reiterated his opposition to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state yesterday.

In a press conference held on January 18, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also stated that he was against the establishment of a Palestinian state in any form in the period following the attacks in Gaza.

Netanyahu had said that he had informed the US administration of this position.

A report published on the US television network NBC News claimed that the US administration is preparing for the post-Netanyahu era.
