Response to claims that Iran's new supreme leader was injured

As US and Israeli military operations against Iran continue, various reports claiming that Mojtaba Khamenei has been injured have begun to spread on social media. The rumors, which have received extensive coverage in the international press, have increased tensions in the country and the region.

“KHAMENEI’S HEALTH IS GOOD”

Yusuf Pezeshkian, the son of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and a government advisor, made a statement on the matter via his Telegram channel. In his statement, Pezeshkian said, “I have investigated and verified the reports about Khamenei being injured through various sources. His health is good.”

This statement served as a direct response to the rumors circulating in Iran in recent days. Pezeshkian’s words once again highlighted that there has been no confirmation of any injury from official authorities.

“VETERAN” EMPHASIS FROM STATE TELEVISION

Previously, Iranian state television had referred to Mojtaba Khamenei as a “veteran.” However, no details were shared with the public regarding why or how this title was given, or where and when a possible injury might have occurred. This has paved the way for continued uncertainty and speculation regarding the leader’s health.

THREATENING POST FROM ISRAEL

A notable move also came from Israel. Israeli Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana posted a photo of Mojtaba Khamenei on the social media platform X, alongside photos of previously assassinated leaders of Iran and Hamas. While this post by Ohana further escalated tensions in the region, it was interpreted by analysts as an indirect assassination threat against Iran’s new supreme leader.
