Russia has presented its fundamental conditions to the US for the start of peace negotiations with Ukraine. Moscow's demands include Ukraine not joining NATO, no foreign troops being stationed in Ukraine after the war, and international recognition of its sovereignty over the Crimea, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) and the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

The Kremlin outlined its preconditions for peace after the plane carrying the US delegation landed in Moscow. A statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the US and European countries should not deploy troops to Ukraine following the war.

While Russia demands that the regions under its control in Ukraine be granted official status, it also stipulates that the Kyiv administration must abandon its plans to join NATO. The US and Ukraine have not made a statement regarding Russia's demands.

TRUMP: 'THE SITUATION REMAINS SERIOUS'

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that American diplomats would travel to Moscow to establish direct contact with Russian officials. This step was taken after Ukraine reported that it was ready to accept a 30-day ceasefire during negotiations in Saudi Arabia.

Confirming that the diplomats were en route to Moscow during a meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin, Trump stated the following:

'I am receiving positive messages regarding a ceasefire, but these messages alone are not enough. The situation remains serious.'

According to a report by Russia's official state agency TASS, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that they expect the proposal the US will present to them to become clear within a few days. Peskov also indicated that the possibility of a phone call between Putin and Trump is on the agenda.

Russian officials noted that they are reviewing Ukraine's ceasefire proposal and that discussions are continuing through various diplomatic channels. Meanwhile, President Vladimir Putin, who visited the front in Kursk, instructed the army to liberate the region from the Ukrainian occupation 'as soon as possible.'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a statement in Kyiv that his country has taken the necessary steps for peace. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that the US's direct negotiations with Moscow are of critical importance and that he expects the process to yield positive results.

Stressing that lasting peace cannot be achieved without his country receiving security guarantees, Zelenskyy stated:

'Everything depends on whether Russia truly wants a ceasefire or whether it will continue to kill people.'
