Threatening response from Russia to NATO: It will not go unanswered

Nastasyin held a press conference in the capital, Moscow, regarding current issues. Evaluating the Finnish parliament's approval of a defense agreement that allows the U.S. to use 15 military facilities in Finland, Nastasyin said that NATO is strengthening its military presence on Russian borders.

Nastasyin stated, "Russia will not leave this unanswered. This threatens the security of the Russian Federation."

Evaluating the invitation of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia to the NATO Summit to be held on July 9-11, Nastasyin noted the following:

"This is an example of the Americans' attempts to spread their destructive influence to every region of the world. Washington aims to detach friendly and neighboring countries from Russia with the consent of weak-willed allies in Europe. NATO members are making efforts to develop their own approaches to regional issues. This approach by NATO has led to disastrous consequences many times."

Arguing that the U.S. and its European allies are unhappy with the situation in Ukraine and are therefore trying to create chaos in Russia's neighboring countries, Nastasyin continued:

"They are providing weapons to Armenia, trying to rebuild this country's defense sector and undermine the security mechanisms within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). At the same time, they are trying to influence Baku. This increases tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia, negatively affects the dialogue between the two countries, and provokes an arms race in the region."

Nastasyin argued that this approach is aimed at dividing the South Caucasus region and could lead to destructive consequences, stating that security and stability in the South Caucasus should be ensured by the countries located in the region.

Russian Foreign Ministry official Nastasyin also accused Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia of displaying a "destructive approach" toward the South Caucasus.
