Russia: We remain committed to the Istanbul agreements

Lavrov evaluated Ukraine's recent actions to the Russian press in the capital, Moscow.

Pointing out that the Ukrainian army carried out attacks on civilian targets on Russian soil using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) between May 20-23, Lavrov noted that there were deaths and injuries in these attacks.

Stating that the attacks were carried out as a result of the support provided to Kyiv by some European countries, primarily the UK, France, and Germany, Lavrov said, "We are certain that these countries also share responsibility for the crimes committed. We will work to put an end to this policy."

Lavrov used the expression, "It is clear that this is an attempt to disrupt the negotiation process initiated in Istanbul, in line with the agreements reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump."

Expressing that "despite this, they will continue to work based on the agreements they reached with Ukraine in Istanbul," Lavrov said, "We remain committed to a peaceful resolution of the crisis. We are always open to negotiations. We are also committed to the agreements reached between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul. We are about to complete our work on preparing the lists for a 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner exchange in the negotiations."

Minister Lavrov recalled that they had agreed to present their perspective on a possible ceasefire in the negotiations with Ukraine in detail, adding, "As soon as the prisoner exchange is completed, Russia will deliver the draft document it has been working on to the Ukrainian side."
