Russian airstrike on Kyiv! Many dead and wounded

Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine. The Russian army has once again targeted the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Damage occurred at 27 locations across 4 districts of Kyiv.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated in a post on social media that 6 people, including a 6-year-old child, have lost their lives so far, and more than 50 people, 9 of whom are children, have been injured.

Head of the Kyiv Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko reported that the number of injured is 52. Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko shared the information that "an apartment building was directly targeted in the attacks."

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha included a photo of an apartment building destroyed in the attack in his social media post, stating, "A horrific morning in Kyiv. The Russians' brutal attacks have leveled entire residential buildings and damaged schools and hospitals."

FIRST STATEMENT FROM ZELENSKYY

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his post, "The Russians launched more than 300 UAVs and 8 missiles. We are doing everything in our power to fully implement all agreements reached for the protection of our people and to ensure that every agreement serves the purpose of saving lives. Today, the world has once again seen Russia's response to our desire for peace, which it shares with the US and Europe. That is why peace is impossible without strength. However, our partners have all the tools needed to force Moscow to make peace and to force them to sit at a real negotiating table. We expect everything that the US and Europe have voiced to achieve this goal to be realized."

In recent months, Russia has intensified its airstrikes on towns and cities far from the front line. Despite US President Donald Trump's threat to impose tougher sanctions on Moscow if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not agree to a ceasefire by August 8, Russian attacks continue.
