Russian delegation head Medinsky: We held a productive meeting with Fidan
Vladimir Medinsky, advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin and head of the Russian delegation during the Istanbul negotiations, stated that they held a productive meeting with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Medinsky made statements to reporters after meeting with Foreign Minister Fidan at the Presidential Dolmabahçe Office in Istanbul.
Stating that the Russian delegation came to Istanbul to conduct direct, unconditional bilateral talks with Ukraine upon the instructions of Russian President Putin, Medinsky said, "We held a productive meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister (Hakan Fidan) today and explained our position in detail."
Noting that they would wait for the Ukrainian side to arrive for the meeting starting at 10:00 AM on May 16, Medinsky added, "We are ready to work."
