Russian terrorist captured in Bodrum extradited to his country

In a statement from the press service of the Russian intelligence agency FSB, it was noted that the suspect was captured in Bodrum through the joint efforts of the FSB and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the assistance of the special services and law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Turkey.

The statement included the following: "Yevgeny Serebryakov, a Russian citizen born in 1995 who was on the international wanted list for his involvement in the bombing of a car in northern Moscow on July 24, 2024, was brought to Russia on July 26, 2024."

'I CONTACTED UKRAINIAN INTELLIGENCE TO COOPERATE'

In a video shared with the statement, Serebryakov was seen stating during his initial interrogation, "I made contact in February 2023 to cooperate with Ukrainian intelligence."

An explosion occurred in a parked car in the Russian capital, Moscow, on the morning of July 24. It was reported that a Russian soldier was inside the vehicle during the blast and was injured.

As a result of the investigations, it was determined that a Russian citizen named Yevgeny Serebryakov was involved in the incident, but it was understood that the suspect in question had fled from Moscow to Bodrum by plane.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya had announced that the individual, who matched information received from the Russian INTERPOL unit, was captured in Bodrum by Muğla Provincial Police Department units following necessary coordination with the Intelligence Presidency, the Interpol/Europol Department, the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), the Presidency of Migration Management, the Counter-Terrorism Department, and the Muğla Provincial Police Department.
