Russia's response to the US on Ukraine: 'If they are not realistic, the war will continue'

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov reminded that the US must show a 'realistic approach' to the war in Ukraine. In a statement made by Ryabkov, it was noted that the war could continue for another 100 days due to false expectations.

Speaking to the Russian news agency TASS, Ryabkov evaluated the report by The Wall Street Journal that ''US President Donald Trump has instructed his Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, to resolve the Ukraine issue within 100 days.''

Pointing out that the Ukraine issue cannot be resolved within 100 days without realism in the US approach, Ryabkov stated the following:

'First of all, I want to understand on what basis the American side will move toward a solution. According to the signals we have heard in recent days, the issue cannot be resolved in 100 days or even a longer period. If Washington's approach to this matter becomes more realistic, the process could begin. However, it is difficult to estimate the speed of this process.'

Stating that they have not yet received an agrément from Washington for the ambassador Russia has appointed to the US, Ryabkov noted that they expect a positive decision on this matter to be taken quickly.
