S&P affirms US credit rating

In a statement released by the credit rating agency, it was announced that the US credit rating has been affirmed.

The statement reported that the US long-term credit rating was affirmed at "AA+" and the short-term credit rating at "A-1+".

The statement, which noted that the country's long-term credit rating outlook is maintained as "stable," expressed that a diversified and resilient economy, supported by robust growth, extensive monetary policy flexibility, and the benefits of being the issuer of the world's leading reserve currency, forms the foundation of the US sovereign rating.

The statement noted that the high debt burden, with net public debt approaching 100 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and the difficulties in achieving bipartisan cooperation in Congress to strengthen fiscal dynamics are credit weaknesses.

In S&P's statement, it was indicated that the country's economy is expected to grow by 2.5 percent this year as it avoids a recession and manages a "soft landing," with the US economy projected to grow by 1.5 percent in 2025, 1.7 percent in 2026, and 1.9 percent in 2027.
