Spain declares three days of mourning

Spain has declared three days of mourning following the death of Pope Francis, a significant figure in the Catholic world, at the age of 88. Deputy Prime Minister Felix Bolanos expressed his deep sorrow over the Pope's passing in a statement following the sad event. Bolanos stated, 'We are saddened by the death of a great Pope and a good man.'

Flags have been flown at half-mast across the country, and black ribbons have been worn. Bolanos noted that Pope Francis will be remembered for his humanist, solidarity-driven, and reformist personality, and that his struggle against injustices and inequalities will not be forgotten.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez also emphasized in a post on his social media account that the Pope left a profound legacy through his commitment to peace, social justice, and the most vulnerable. Sanchez said, 'I am saddened by the death of Pope Francis.'

Due to the Pope's passing, all government ministers, leaders of political parties in Parliament, and heads of autonomous regional governments have also conveyed their messages of condolence.
