Spain rejects Trump
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that they would not participate in the Peace Council chaired by US President Donald Trump, saying, "We thank you for the invitation, but we decline."
Numerous countries were invited to the Peace Council, founded by US President Donald Trump, which he announced would work in conjunction with the United Nations (UN) to resolve international disputes.
A total of 22 countries, including the US, joined the Peace Council, for which the founding charter was signed yesterday. While many countries were invited to the council by Trump, Spain responded negatively to the invitation.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, in a press statement following the European Union (EU) Leaders' Summit held yesterday, announced that they would not participate in the Peace Council chaired by US President Donald Trump, stating, "We thank you for the invitation, but we decline."
Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez explained that Spain is not participating in the initiative due to the importance it places on the UN and multilateralism, and emphasized that the Palestinian administration is also not represented on the council.
