Stabbing attack in New York

In the Queens borough of New York, USA, a person attacked his own family with a knife. Authorities stated that 4 people, including 2 children, lost their lives in the attack, and 3 people, including 2 police officers, were injured, adding that the attacker was shot and neutralized by police.

In a statement made by the New York Police Department, it was noted that the report of the attack was made by a young girl, who said on the phone that her "cousin was killing family members."

Police reported that the victims included a 12-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s, adding that the 11-year-old child was found in front of the house, while the other three victims were found in their bedrooms. Police stated that the 38-year-old attacker had previously been arrested for domestic violence, and noted that the suspect had set fire to a sofa in the living room, forcing police officers to wait for the fire department to arrive before entering the house.
