Statement from the Israeli military
Hamas has handed over 14 Israeli and 3 foreign national hostages to International Committee of the Red Cross officials as part of the prisoner exchange agreement reached.
In a statement issued by the Israeli military, it was noted that "according to information received from the Red Cross, 14 Israeli hostages and 3 foreign hostages have been transferred to the Red Cross."
No information was provided regarding the nationalities of the released foreign hostages or whether the 17 hostages in question had reached the Rafah Border Crossing to be taken to Egypt.
A statement from Hamas's armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, also noted that 13 Israelis, 3 Thai nationals, and 1 Russian hostage had been handed over to the Red Cross.
As part of the prisoner exchange agreement reached between Israel and Hamas, a total of 26 Israeli and 78 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange yesterday and the day before.
