Statement from Tom Barrack following his new appointment
Tom Barrack, the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria, has issued a statement on social media regarding his newly assumed role as Special Envoy for Iraq.
Tom Barrack, who serves as the United States Ambassador to Ankara and is also the Special Envoy for Syria, expressed his satisfaction following his appointment as the Special Envoy for Iraq. In a post on his social media account, Barrack stated that this significant role was entrusted to him by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Emphasizing the impact of the direct contacts President Trump has established in the Middle East on the region, Barrack stated, "I am honored to accept the title of Special Envoy under his bold leadership. I am honored to serve Donald Trump, who has achieved what no predecessor has achieved in the Middle East."
Ambassador Barrack also underscored that the foreign policy approach of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has brought a major change to American foreign relations. Barrack conveyed that the prevailing balance-of-power model would yield the most positive results if allies in the region take on more responsibility and act together. "This must take place within a framework that protects U.S. interests, regional stability, and core strategic goals," Barrack said.
