"The Assad regime, which has ruled Syria with authoritarianism for years, has come to an end as of today. It is now essential to establish a transitional government in Syria that represents all Syrians. The Republican People's Party (CHP) stands for the territorial integrity of Syria and an environment of democracy, peace, and stability in Syria.

Our priority regarding Syria is the safety and peace of our citizens. A comprehensive program that will make it possible for Syrians, who have been in Turkey under various statuses for years, to return to their homes must be put forward immediately.

We call on all of Syria's friends to support the establishment of a transitional government that will represent all Syrians, and subsequently a democratic regime based on human rights and the rule of law, in order to avoid repeating the mistakes made in Iraq and Libya."
