Stoltenberg cites Turkey as an example regarding Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg cited Turkey as an example in his remarks regarding the weapons and ammunition aid provided by NATO allies to Ukraine.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met with the National Security Advisors of NATO member countries in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
Following the meeting, Stoltenberg held a joint press conference with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
Touching upon the weapons and ammunition support provided by NATO allies to Ukraine, Stoltenberg spoke highly of the aid Turkey has provided to Ukraine.
Stoltenberg stated that Turkey has been providing Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles to Ukraine since before the Russian invasion, adding, “Now they are also building a new factory in Ukraine to produce unmanned aerial vehicles.
"WE MUST ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT IS A CHALLENGING WAR"
This is an example of NATO allies not only supporting Ukraine directly with shipments of weapons and ammunition but also investing to increase their capacity to produce their own weapons.
Finally, I think we must acknowledge that the war in Ukraine is a challenging war because it is a combination of the trench warfare of the First World War and the modern technology of the 21st century, including unmanned aerial vehicles, and with the support we provide to Ukraine, we are trying to overcome this challenge together,” he said.
