Sweden, having completed its NATO process, to send troops to Latvia

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson held a press conference. In his statement, Kristersson announced that his country's integration into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was completed today and that they would send a military unit to the NATO battalion in Latvia early next year.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced that his country's integration into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was completed today and that they would send a military unit to the NATO battalion in Latvia early next year.

Kristersson stated at his press conference that the Swedish Armed Forces and NATO had signed a joint declaration, noting that the process Sweden initiated for NATO membership in 2022 has been concluded.

Swedish Prime Minister Kristersson said, "At the beginning of next year, the government has decided to send troops to the Canadian-led NATO brigade in Latvia. The military unit will include 400 to 500 personnel, as well as CV 90 tracked armored combat vehicles and Leopard tanks."
