Syrian uncertainty continues: Conflicting statements persist

An important meeting between the Syrian government and the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) has concluded in Damascus. The content of the meeting focused on the integration of the SDF into the Syrian army and the implementation of the March 10 Agreement. However, following the meeting, statements from different sources revealed conflicting views regarding the scope and feasibility of the agreement.

KURDISH SOURCES: AGREEMENT REACHED ON MILITARY INTEGRATION

According to some Kurdish sources, including the Erbil-based Rudaw, an important step was taken at the meeting. According to these sources, the military divisions of the SDF will be integrated into the Syrian army. This agreement will ensure that the SDF's military structure operates in a more centralized manner, in coordination with the Syrian army. At the same time, the implementation period of the previously signed March 10 Agreement has been extended. Kurdish sources state that this development represents significant progress on the ground.

ARAB SOURCES: NO CONCRETE RESULTS ACHIEVED

According to Arab sources, however, no concrete results emerged from the meeting. According to information provided to Syrian News by a source close to the Syrian government, no result was obtained at the end of the meeting that would ensure the rapid implementation of the agreement on the ground. The source stated that the meeting resulted in an agreement to hold further discussions, but that these discussions did not reach any practical conclusion in the short term.

It was reported that Kevin Lambert, commander of the Combined Joint Task Force in the international coalition fighting ISIS, also attended the meeting in Damascus. Lambert, another key figure who attended the meeting, held important discussions regarding the cooperation process, particularly against ISIS and other terrorist groups.

MARCH 10 AGREEMENT EXTENDED

Another important development from the meeting was the extension of the implementation period of the March 10 Agreement. This agreement was an important arrangement previously signed between the SDF and the Syrian government covering civil administrative issues. However, it was decided to extend the period due to the lack of concrete steps taken regarding the implementation of the agreement.
