Teacher who abused student in England banned from profession
Kandice Barber, who had sexual relations with a 15-year-old student in the Buckinghamshire region of England, has been banned from teaching for life by regulators due to her obscene behavior and social media posts.
According to a report by DailyMail, the case of Barber, who was previously sentenced to 6 years and 2 months in prison following a report prepared about her, was evaluated at a Teaching Regulation Agency hearing.
COMMUNICATED WITH STUDENT USING SEXUAL INNUENDOS
Susanne Staab, who presided over the hearing, emphasized that the teacher communicated with her student in an inappropriate and sexually suggestive manner while in class. Emphasizing that the teacher's behavior constituted a serious breach of trust and misconduct, Staab said, "Barber's sexual abuse of her student was followed by threats and manipulation, demonstrating a callous and selfish disregard for her student's well-being. The public will rightly be horrified by her behavior."
NOT ALLOWED TO PRACTICE PROFESSION DUE TO LACK OF REMORSE
In a statement made on behalf of the UK Secretary of State for Education, it was stated, "The lack of evidence of remorse means that there is a risk of this behavior being repeated, and this situation puts the future well-being of students at risk... The behavior was so appalling and harmful that it would be fundamentally incompatible with being allowed to teach in the future..."
