Tehran administration announces: New draft agreement with the US is being reviewed
As a new draft agreement aimed at reducing tensions between Iran and the US is being evaluated in Tehran, Iranian sources remain cautious.
Evaluations are ongoing in Tehran regarding the revised agreement text prepared between the parties to resolve the long-standing crisis between Iran and the US. A source close to the Iranian negotiating team stated that work on the agreement text is still underway and that no definitive response has been given yet.
According to information provided by the source, the Iranian side is examining the draft with great care, pointing to the US's track record regarding the fulfillment of previous obligations and the current environment of mistrust. The source commented, "Based on past experiences, Iran is seeking concrete and real benefits."
US President Donald Trump had previously transmitted a new draft agreement to Tehran by making changes to a document that had led to the postponement of negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear activities. The current draft includes conditions such as Iran's commitment not to acquire nuclear weapons and the destruction of its uranium stockpiles. Information was also added to the agreement stating that the release of billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets would be deferred until after the peace process concludes.
In his latest statement, the US President said, "Peace in Iran could be as valuable as a military victory."
