Russia has targeted the country's energy infrastructure by carrying out one of the most intense air attacks on Ukraine in recent times.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that sirens were sounding across the country and explosions were heard in many regions due to cruise missiles launched from Tu-95 type warplanes belonging to the Russian army.

THE COUNTRY'S ENERGY SYSTEM HAS COLLAPSED

Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko stated that the country's energy system is in a "severe" condition due to Russia's attacks. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that there were power outages in many districts of the capital and that water cuts had also occurred.

Local authorities reported that at least 3 people lost their lives in the attacks carried out in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Volyn regions. It was announced that 5 people were injured in the Poltava region.

RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE CONFIRMED

The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that they had carried out intense attacks on energy infrastructure operating in Ukraine's military-industrial sector. The ministry stated that all designated targets were hit in the attacks carried out with long-range high-precision weapons and UAVs.

ONE OF THE MOST INTENSE ATTACKS

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the attack was carried out with more than 100 missiles and nearly 100 unmanned aerial vehicles, describing it as one of the most intense attacks against his country.

Zelensky stated that the attack affected many regions of Ukraine, especially Kyiv, and that severe damage occurred in the energy system.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced that the Russian army had launched a second wave of attacks with UAVs. It was reported that the UAVs were seen in the directions of Kyiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Kirovohrad.
