Terrifying moments: F-16 fighter jet makes emergency landing

A Hellenic Air Force F-16 fighter jet encountered an unexpected malfunction during a training flight this afternoon. Due to the issue that occurred on the aircraft, the pilot chose the airport on the island of Zakynthos, located in the Ionian Sea, for an emergency landing.

The incident took place at 13:45 local time. Due to a technical fault identified by the pilot, they immediately initiated a descent and managed to land the fighter jet safely on the runway. Following the landing, checks confirmed that the pilot did not have any health issues.

Greece's state television, ERT, reported the details of the incident from a different perspective. In the ERT report, it was stated that the pilot decided to make an emergency landing after noticing a fire while the aircraft was in the air.
