The mystery solved: The real reason Elon Musk bought Twitter has been revealed
The real reason behind Elon Musk's multi-billion dollar acquisition of the Twitter platform has been revealed.
Elon Musk purchased the Twitter platform, which seemed completely outside his area of expertise, for a staggering 44 billion dollars last year. The real reason for this move, which was met with astonishment by many, has recently come to light.
According to Kurt Wagner’s upcoming book, Battle for the Bird, Musk had asked former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal to shut down the account of a user who was tracking his private jet, but Agrawal refused.
WHY DID HE BUY IT?
According to information in the book, Musk was furious after receiving the refusal and began purchasing a large amount of Twitter shares shortly after the incident. Within a short period of 3 months, he had acquired approximately 10 percent of the company. Following this, the famous entrepreneur attempted to buy Twitter outright and achieved this goal in October.
After the acquisition, Musk, who had stated that he attached great importance to freedom of speech and therefore would not ban the user tracking his private jet, did the exact opposite just one month later and suspended the account in question.
Wagner’s book, Battle for the Bird, which will include all these events and more, is set to be released on February 20. Neither Musk nor Agrawal has made any comment regarding the claims made in the book.
