The toll of Israeli attacks in Lebanon grows heavier: Death toll nears three thousand

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has released the latest data regarding the casualties following the intense airstrikes launched by the Israeli army on March 2. According to the information provided, the number of deaths during this period has reached 2,846, while the number of injured has reached 8,693.

Yesterday, Israeli aircraft carried out new attacks at various points in Lebanon; it was noted that unmanned aerial vehicles, in particular, targeted many vehicles and motorcycles. In a statement made the previous day, the number of those who lost their lives was announced as 2,795. A rapid increase in the death toll has been observed following the latest attacks.

It was stated that with the operations launched by Israel on March 2, many settlements, especially in southern Lebanon, were struck and these regions have been subjected to occupation.

The Lebanese government reported that the number of people displaced due to the conflicts has exceeded 1 million. It was pointed out that human displacement has reached significant proportions and that a serious humanitarian crisis is being experienced across the country.

US President Donald Trump had announced to the public that the 10-day temporary ceasefire that went into effect between Lebanon and Israel on April 17 had been extended for another three weeks. However, it is noted that despite the ceasefire, Israel continues its attacks on southern Lebanon, and Hezbollah forces are responding to these attacks.
