The world's most expensive visa has been revealed: It will increase starting October 1

Foreign visitors planning to travel to the United States will face a new financial burden that will take effect on October 1. With a new 250-dollar fee added under the name of a "visa integrity fee," a U.S. visa will cost a total of 442 dollars. This increase makes the U.S. one of the most expensive visa destinations in the world.

Experts state that this new fee will not only strain the budgets of individuals but will also harm the country's tourism sector. According to estimates by the World Travel and Tourism Council, international visitor spending is expected to fall below 169 billion dollars this year and drop to 181 billion dollars in 2024. This situation could negatively affect the post-pandemic recovery process.

The new visa fee creates an additional obstacle for visitors from countries such as Mexico, Argentina, India, Brazil, and China who do not have visa exemptions. According to the U.S. Travel Association, the total cost, which has risen to 442 dollars, stands out as one of the highest visitor costs worldwide.

Immigration policies that hardened during the Donald Trump administration and cuts in foreign aid had strengthened the negative perception of the U.S. The new visa fee could further aggravate this picture and affect the country's international image.
