Threat from Russia: It will become a target in a Russia-NATO conflict!

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced that if US nuclear weapons are deployed to Northern Europe, they will become targets in the event of a direct military conflict scenario between Russia and NATO.

Zakharova, speaking at her weekly press briefing held within the framework of the World Youth Festival in the city of Sochi, evaluated the statements made by Finnish President Alexander Stubb that "it is important for his country to have nuclear deterrence."

Stating that the deployment of US nuclear weapons to Northern Europe would not strengthen the security of the countries receiving these weapons, Zakharova said, "If American nuclear weapons appear in Northern Europe, the security of the countries receiving these weapons will not only weaken but will also be clearly harmed."

Zakharova continued her remarks as follows:

Pointing out that it is very clear to understand the consequences these weapons will bring, Zakharova said, “Such objects will constitute a direct source of threat, and naturally, it will be inevitable for them to be included in the list of legitimate targets defined by the scenario of a direct military conflict between our country and NATO. We understand that this is exactly what the US and its satellites strongly desire.”
