TikTok blocked: Millions of users encountered the same message! 'Unfortunately, you cannot use TikTok at this time'

TikTok, which has been the subject of long-standing debate in American public opinion, has been blocked in the US just hours before the official ban was set to take effect on January 19.

Users attempting to access TikTok, which has more than 170 million users in the US, were met with a message stating, "Sorry, TikTok is currently unavailable. A law banning TikTok in the US has gone into effect. Unfortunately, you cannot use TikTok at this time."

The message further noted that US President-elect Donald Trump is working to find a solution to the ban in question.

In a statement yesterday regarding the matter, President-elect Trump announced that he is considering granting the company an additional 90-day extension so that TikTok can comply with the relevant law and avoid the ban.

On Friday, the US Supreme Court upheld the implementation of the law, which mandates that the Chinese social media platform TikTok be banned in the US if it is not sold.

The court stated, "Congress has determined that divestiture is necessary to address national security concerns regarding TikTok's data collection practices and its relationship with a foreign adversary."

According to the unanimous decision, if the social media app is not sold by January 19, when the ruling takes effect, it will be removed from platforms such as Google and Apple, and downloading the application to devices such as phones and tablets will be blocked after that date.
