Time difference between Europe and Turkey is decreasing

Turkey remains in the fixed GMT+3 time zone and continues to observe permanent daylight saving time.

In European countries, however, clocks will be set back tonight. As a result, the time difference between Turkey and Central European countries such as Germany, France, and the Netherlands will drop to 2 hours.

The difference with Western European countries such as the UK and Portugal will increase to 3 hours.

Across the continent, daylight saving time begins on the last Sunday of March each year and ends on the last Sunday of October. This year, the transition to winter time will occur by setting clocks back one hour at 04:00. In 2026, daylight saving time will begin at 02:00 on the night connecting March 29 to March 30.

Turkey prefers the fixed time system in order to "make more use of daylight" and "facilitate daily life."
