Trump administration sends 'leave the country' message to Ukrainians in the US

Many Ukrainians in the US under a humanitarian program received an email this week warning that their status had been revoked, that they had 7 days to leave the country, and that they would be apprehended if they failed to do so.

The email, which was revealed to have been sent on Thursday, stated, "If you do not leave the US immediately, you will be subject to potential law enforcement actions that will lead to your deportation.

DHS is terminating your program. Do not attempt to remain in the US," the message read.

In a statement issued by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), it was stated that the email was sent "accidentally" and that the humanitarian program created for Ukrainians following the Russian invasion that began in 2022 has not been terminated.

REVOCATION OF LEGAL STATUS FOR 240 THOUSAND UKRAINIANS

Last month, it was alleged that the Donald Trump administration planned to revoke the legal status of approximately 240 thousand Ukrainians who came to the US fleeing Russian attacks, and that these individuals could be rapidly deported from the country. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had denied the reports in question.
