Trump beats rivals by a wide margin: Wins primaries in 3 states

Former US President Donald Trump has won the Republican primaries in the states of Missouri, Idaho, and Michigan.

RECEIVED 68 PERCENT OF THE VOTES

Trump is widening the gap in the nomination race against his only remaining rival within the party, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley. In the primaries held yesterday in Michigan, Trump received 68 percent of the Republican voters' ballots. His closest rival, Haley, remained at 27 percent.

Trump also defeated Haley by a wide margin in the primaries held on the same day in Idaho, finishing with 85 percent of the vote. Haley's vote share was 13 percent. According to ABC News, Trump also secured all 54 of the state's electoral delegates at the party caucus in Missouri.

DELEGATE COUNTS

The official distribution of the 54 electoral delegates in Missouri will be finalized at the Republican National Convention to be held on May 4. With the latest primaries held in three states over the weekend, Trump has reached 244 of the 1,215 delegates required for the Republican presidential nomination. Haley currently has 24 electoral delegates.

Voters will head to the polls on "Super Tuesday," considered one of the most critical days of the presidential race, when primaries will be held in 16 states. The status of the presidential candidates is expected to become clear following the Super Tuesday primaries on March 5.
