Trump blames, Hamas responds: 'We are not the obstacle, Netanyahu is'

Following US President Donald Trump's accusation that Hamas is rejecting a ceasefire in Gaza, a response has come from Hamas. In a statement released on the social media platform Telegram, the organization rejected the accusations, stating that "Hamas has never been the obstacle to reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip."

The statement also targeted Netanyahu, saying, "The US administration, the mediators, and the entire world know that war criminal Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the only party blocking efforts for an agreement." Hamas recalled that they have shown every kind of flexibility to reach a ceasefire to date, but that Netanyahu broke the temporary ceasefire reached in January. Furthermore, it was alleged that it was Netanyahu who ordered the attack on the Hamas delegation in Qatar that was discussing Trump's ceasefire proposal.

TRUMP'S CLAIMS

In his speech at the UN General Assembly, Trump stated that they had made efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza, claiming that Hamas had not released the hostages and had not accepted the agreement.
