Trump blames Iran for assassination attempt: They will try again

Republican presidential candidate in the US, Donald Trump, made a statement regarding the recent assassination attempts on his Truth Social account.

Noting that he has received "major threats" against his life from Iran, Trump said, "The entire US military is watching and waiting. Iran has made moves before that didn't work out, but they will try again."

Trump stated that he is surrounded by more armed personnel than he has "ever seen before" and thanked the US Congress for unanimously approving additional funding for the US Secret Service.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Gunshots were heard in the vicinity of where Trump was located in Florida on the evening of September 15, and it was subsequently reported that he was safe.

Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., announced on his X account that local law enforcement had found an AK-47 rifle in the bushes at the scene after the incident and that a suspect had been apprehended.

It was stated that a Secret Service agent opened fire on the suspect while Trump was playing golf, whom the agent was tasked with protecting.

In an email sent to his supporters, Trump emphasized that he would "never give up," stating, "There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I am safe and well."

The FBI described the incident as "very serious."

Former President Trump survived an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania on July 13 with an injury to his ear.
