Trump breaks silence on 'Epstein': Elon Musk's post had dominated the agenda in the US

US President Donald Trump made statements regarding his dispute with American billionaire Elon Musk last week. In an interview with NBC News, Trump said that if Musk supports Democratic candidates against Republicans who voted in favor of the comprehensive budget bill, there would be "serious consequences."

Trump said, "If he does it, he will have to face the consequences. He will face very serious consequences." The US President refused to elaborate on what those "consequences" would be.

Emphasizing that he has no desire to mend his relationship with Musk, Donald Trump stated that his relationship with Musk is over. When asked if he had any plans to meet with Musk soon, Trump said, "I am very busy with my other work. I have no intention of talking to him. Because he is very disrespectful. The office of the Presidency cannot be disrespected."

"EPSTEIN'S LAWYER SAID I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT"

Addressing the post where Musk drew attention to old connections between Trump and Epstein, the US President said, "This is old news that has been talked about for years. Even Epstein's lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. It's old news."

US President Donald Trump spoke about the proposal to cancel federal contracts for Elon Musk's companies, stating, "I am allowed to do that, but I haven't thought about it at all."

In his interview, Donald Trump also addressed calls for the federal government to launch an investigation into Musk's business dealings and immigration record, saying, "That is not something on my mind right now."

"IT HIGHLIGHTED THE STRENGTHS OF THE BILL"

Stating that he does not believe the idea that Elon Musk's opposition to "A Great Beautiful Bill" jeopardizes the bill's chances of success, Trump said he is "very confident" that the bill will pass the Senate before July 4th. Trump said, "The Republican Party has never been this united. It has never been before. In fact, we are even more united than we were three days ago."

Noting that this friction has enabled lawmakers to see the benefits of the bill, Donald Trump said, "Actually, I think Elon has brought out the strengths of the bill, because people who weren't paying attention before have started to pay attention and are seeing how good it is. In that sense, it was a great favor. But I think Elon is really very sad and very hurt. That is sad."

MUSK'S EPSTEIN POST

In a statement on his social media account on Thursday, Elon Musk addressed the reason why the files belonging to the case of US billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of establishing a sexual abuse network targeting young girls, were not released to the public, stating, "Time to drop the big bombshell. Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they are not being released to the public."
