Trump calls on Putin to 'stop it'

US President Trump issued both a call and a warning to Putin in a statement on his social media account, Truth Social.

"THE RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR MUST END NOW"

In his statement, Trump noted that he does not want to harm Russia, that he loves the Russian people, and that the Russians helped the US in World War II; however, he stated that it is time for the Russia-Ukraine war to end.

"IF I WERE PRESIDENT, THE WAR WOULD NEVER HAVE STARTED"

Calling on Putin, Trump used the following expressions:

"Reach a deal now and stop this ridiculous war. Or things will get much worse. If we don't make a deal soon, I will have no choice but to impose sanctions on Russia and apply high-level tariffs on everything sold from Russia to the US. Let's end this war that would never have started if I were President! We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Make the deal now. No more loss of life."
