Trump continues his threats against Iran

At a time when tensions between Washington and Tehran in the Strait of Hormuz have taken on a new dimension, US President Donald Trump issued a clear warning regarding the safety of navigation in the region on the social media platform Truth Social. Trump declared that if the Iranian military or allied forces in the region open fire on any commercial or military vessel passing through the Strait of Hormuz, there will be a swift and decisive response.

In his post, Trump explicitly stated that in such a situation, the US would ensure that "a FULL BRIDGE or POWER PLANT, including those located in or near the capital Tehran, would be bombed and completely destroyed." He further emphasized that this threat was not merely rhetoric and that any move made by Iran would be met with immediate and powerful retaliation.

In recent weeks, the security of the international commercial transit route over the Strait of Hormuz has been at the center of tensions between the two countries. Previous US operations targeting ports, airports, and logistics areas in southern Iran had caused concern for the Tehran administration. Following these operations, Trump signaled that sanctions and retaliation against an Iran that refuses to come to the negotiating table would be directed at energy infrastructure and strategically important bridges.

Iranian military leaders responded by announcing that they would declare all energy and logistics facilities in the region as legitimate military targets in the event of a potential US strike on civilian infrastructure.
