Trump firmly denies claims of 30 billion dollar nuclear support for Iran

According to claims that resonated in American public opinion, it had been suggested that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration could offer up to 30 billion dollars in financial support to Iran if it developed its nuclear facilities solely for peaceful purposes. However, Trump explicitly denied these reports in a post on the social media platform Truth Social.

In his statement, Trump targeted the media outlet that prepared the report, using the words, "Which of the fake news media is out there saying 'President Trump wants to give Iran 30 billion dollars to build non-military nuclear facilities'?" and stated that the claims put forward were completely baseless.

The claim in question had come to the agenda following reports recently featured in the American press suggesting that the Trump administration was considering certain economic incentives in exchange for Tehran halting its uranium enrichment program.

According to a report by NBC News, which cited three different sources, incentive options such as providing technical support to Iran for developing a civilian nuclear program and releasing frozen Iranian assets were on the table. The report further alleged that through these incentives, Iran could access approximately 30 billion dollars in financial resources.

Trump, however, stated that all these claims were inconsistent with reality, emphasizing that current policies are closed to such agreements. At the center of the debate are the long-standing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the West and regional security balances.
